KR Strings has announced the introduction of a new series of carved-top Octolindo F-Model guitar bodied octave mandolins. The new releases expand the Octolindo line with four models now available under the Maestro, Deluxe, Artist, and Scholar designations.

The instruments differ in tonewoods, finish styles, and construction details, while maintaining consistent body dimensions and scale length across the series.

Maestro Model Overview

A new Maestro designation debuts with this release. The Maestro F-Model includes:

  • Carved Swiss "Moon" Spruce Top with Scalloped X-Bracing

  • Carved Curly Maple Back, Sides, and Neck sourced from the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania

  • Thin nitrocellulose lacquer Sunburst finish

  • KR Strings custom nickel-plated brass tailpiece

  • Cumberland Acoustics custom ebony bridge

  • Radiused ebony fingerboard

  • 21.5" scale length

The instrument is supplied with a deluxe hard-shell case, and deluxe gig bag. Body dimensions include a 1.38" nut width, 9 ¾" upper bout, 13 ¾" lower bout, and 17.5" body length.

Full F-Model Lineup

The new Octolindo carved-top series includes:

  • Octolindo Maestro F — Carved Swiss spruce top with curly maple back, sides, and neck; thin nitrocellulose sunburst finish ($5,650)

  • Octolindo Deluxe F — Carved Swiss spruce top with flat Indian Indian Rosewood back and sides; thin nitrocellulose sunburst finish ($4,650)

  • Octolindo Artist F — Carved Swiss spruce top with flat Indian Rosewood back and sides; thin nitrocellulose natural finish ($4,399)

  • Octolindo Scholar F —Carved Swiss spruce top with mahogany back and sides; thin nitrocellulose natural finish ($4,250)

All models incorporate KR Strings' nickel-plated brass tailpiece.

A "Custom Deluxe" model will also be available for retail at a suggested price of $8,000 with Hand Carved Swiss Spruce Top and Curly Maple back sides, and Neck.
